CLIENT CASE STUDY · TILY BLOOMS

“Commercial Cross have become absolutely central to how Tily Blooms runs.”

How an initial packaging brief led to long-term China-side supply management.

Supplier sourcing · Pre-assembly · Stock management · Repeat supply

HOW THE RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPED

One request grew into an ongoing China-side operation.

The partnership expanded only where it improved quality, strengthened control, saved founder time or protected continuity of supply.

THE RELATIONSHIP

A sourcing relationship that grew with the business.

Tily Blooms did not hand over its whole supply chain at once. Commercial Cross first proved its value on a focused brief, then took on more responsibility as the business needed greater consistency, control and continuity.

The core of Tily Blooms’ kits remains manufactured in the UK. Commercial Cross manages selected non-core components sourced from China.

01

The first brief

The first request was a calico bag. At the time, Tily Blooms was dealing with unreliable communication, inconsistent quality and unclear pricing through its existing China-side intermediary.

02

Better factories, better control

Commercial Cross identified more suitable manufacturers for the pouch, test strips, IFU leaflet, printed cards and other China-sourced components, improving both quality and control.

03

Pre-assembly in China

Commercial Cross arranged for selected packaging and components to be grouped and pre-assembled before shipment, reducing repetitive work, time and cost after arrival in the UK.

04

Managing repeat supply

Commercial Cross now monitors component stock, flags shortages, arranges reordering, and coordinates packing and transport—keeping the China side moving between orders.

I finally have a sourcing partner who is working in my interests, not just processing orders.

Before working with Wei, I really struggled. My previous sourcing agent couldn’t deliver the quality consistency I needed, communication was unreliable, and I never fully trusted the prices I was being quoted. When you’re running a regulated medical device business, that uncertainty isn’t just stressful — it’s a real risk. I needed a partner who understood my market and what I was actually trying to build, and I wasn’t getting that.

The core of my kit is manufactured in the UK, which is fundamental to my MHRA registration and something I’ll never compromise on. But certain non-core components are sourced from China, and getting those right — private labelled to my exact specifications, produced to the right standards, and managed reliably — is a very specific ask.

What makes Wei and the team different is that they’re based here in the UK. They understand the UK market, they understand what British consumers expect, and they understand the regulatory environment my product sits within. That local knowledge combined with their China-side relationships is something I simply couldn’t find anywhere else.

They negotiate on my behalf, manage my suppliers directly, keep my stock levels healthy, and handle the coordination that would otherwise consume my time as a founder. And they’ve done all of this in a way that’s been genuinely cost-effective — which for a small business matters enormously.

I trust them completely. That trust has been earned.
